| INTRODUCTION
A & E Connock (Perfumery & Cosmetics) Ltd was established
in 1973 in the small village of Pleshey in the heart of the Essex
countryside. The company remained there for five years before its
move to Dorset where it is still based today. The company was formed
by Alan and Elizabeth Connock (hence the name) and it wasn't until
the early 1980's, when the necessity arose for a warehouse facility,
that the business eventually added to its personnel.
Alderholt Mill House, the company's home since 1978, stands adjacent
to Alderholt Mill, a fourteenth century water mill which still functions
today. For six hundred years, it supplied stone-ground flour to
the surrounding towns and villages but today it is its neighbour,
A & E Connock, that is the supplier, providing the perfumery
and cosmetic industries worldwide with ingredients of the highest
quality, ranging from the well-known to the unusual and exotic.
PRODUCTS
At the outset, A & E Connock's main activity was in the perfumery
industry and the company's product portfolio consisted mainly of
essential oils, perfume compounds and aromatic chemicals. However,
as time has progressed the product range has become much more diverse
and today the bias is towards the cosmetic and toiletry ingredients.
This change in emphasis was brought about by the realisation that
there was much more room for innovation in the field of cosmetic
products than there was in perfumery and as a result many wonderful
new ingredients have been introduced from all corners of the globe.
Those that are familiar with A & E Connock will testify that
probably our main strength is in natural products. Indeed our portfolio
includes a vast and ever-growing number of vegetable oils, herbal
extracts, essential oils and natural exfoliants. Many of these ingredients
are derived from tried and tested plant sources and are already
widely used. Others are comparatively new to the industry but, through
their origins and their folklore, they present to the marketer a
colourful palette. For example, Jojoba Oil, of which we are a noted
supplier, is an established favourite whereas oils such as Kukui
and Manketti have yet to catch on.
However, although the world of natural ingredients holds many treasures,
our product catalogue encompasses a variety of categories besides.
Years of experience in the supply of silicone compounds, cosmetic
esters and a host of other speciality ingredients has ensured that
A & E Connock holds an unique position amongst its peers as
an ingredient supplier of great diversity and that ours is a "must-have"
name on any formulator's contacts list.
SERVICES
A & E Connock offers more than simply a list of products for
sale. Naturally we provide the necessary technical and health and
safety data for each product but in many cases we can also offer
further information, such as articles on various topics and assistance
with formulations and INCI listings. We are also often asked to
seek out products that don't appear in our portfolio but which the
customer is having trouble sourcing elsewhere. With our wealth of
contacts worldwide we rarely fail to locate these elusive materials!
Furthermore, if a customer is seeking a service that A & E Connock
does not offer we can often recommend other companies that may be
able to help.
Ours is a proud, family-run organisation which thrives on accuracy,
promptness and immaculate presentation. As a customer of A & E
Connock you will enjoy a service which combines reliability with flexibility
and old-fashioned values with modern technology. At A & E Connock
you will not find a cliché - you will not see badges on our
letterheading boasting the same so-called "quality standards"
as every other company. We set our own standards which is why the
name A & E Connock is a hallmark of quality in itself. We invite
you to experience our hospitality for yourself - whether you choose
to contact us by letter, telephone, fax, e-mail or even visit us here
in the South of England, we will be ready to discuss how we can adapt
our services to your specific requirements.
